Jets Inform Darrelle Revis That They Will Release Him

Not a surprising move, but a big move nonetheless for the Jets. One of the best players in franchise history being dumped after a ROUGH season and being charged with 4 first degree felonies and making terroristic threats. At his best (his 1st go-round with the Jets), he was a lockdown cover man and the best corner in the NFL. At his worst (the end of his 2nd go-round with the Jets), he was a target for quarterbacks as well as sinking island jokes on Twitter. And in between, he was briefly a Buc and then a goddamn world champion on the fucking Patriots.

But nights like tonight is why Revis always held out for the best contract. The minute you are no longer wanted by a team, they can just cut you and get out from the non-guaranteed part of your contract. I dont know if Revis will retire, try to hang on with another team, or move to safety. But his time with the Jets is done. Revis Island is no more for Gang Green.
